Peach Gum Dessert with Coconut Milk (桃胶炖椰奶) is an awesome dessert to serve hot or cold. Peach gum dessert with coconut milk recipe contains ingredients like peach gum, red dates, white fungus, dried longan, rock sugar, and coconut milk.
This is another favorite dessert in my peach gum dessert series. This time, coconut milk is added to the recipe. I personally rank this even better than the peach gum recipe with low-fat milk.
Coconut milk has a unique fragrance that is full of floral and nutty that one can easily get addicted to. It is believed that coconut milk can help to stimulate weight loss and lower cholesterol levels.
Coconut milk is made by grinding the flesh of mature coconuts with water, and then by squeezing the pulp to produce thick, rich, viscous milk out of the fruit. Nowadays, you can easily purchase packets of coconut milk in grocery stores.

Recipe Ingredients
The recipe calls for:
- 1 bottle 200ml coconut milk
- 30 gram peach gum
- 10 gram white fungus
- 5 red dates
- 10 gram dried longan
- 10 gram rock sugar
How to Cook Peach Gum Dessert with Coconut Milk?
Here are the steps to make peach gum dessert with coconut milk (with pictures):
- Wash and soak the peach gum overnight. Let the peach gum expand in size.
- Clean the impurities from the expanded peach gum and drain.
- Prepare the other dessert ingredients. (wash and soak the white fungus for 30 minutes, remove the red date seeds, wash and drain the dried longan)
- Prepare a pot of water (around 1liter).
- Add in all the ingredients. (white fungus, peach gum, dried longan, cut red dates, rock sugar)
- Bring it to boil and turn it to medium-low heat. Cook for 30 minutes.
- Add in coconut milk and cook for another 3 minutes. Turn off the fire and serve immediately.
