Chow Mein

Chow Mein (炒面) normally come with recipe with shrimp, vegetables, chicken or pork. This is an authentic chow mein combination recipe in Asian. The best chow mein come down with a soy sauce and oyster sauce. Takeout gold standard comes down to the right sauce and the right noodles, then you just leave 10 minutes to noodles heaven!

Ingredients

  • 500 gram dried mee
  • 5 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 100 gram choy sum
  • 6 shrimp
  • 100 gram baby corn
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 200 ml water

Instructions

  • Boil a pot of water. Put in the dried egg noodles (dried mee), soak it for 5 minutes or until soft. Drain it.
  • Heat oil in a wok.
  • Add garlic and stir fry for 10 seconds or until it turns to lightly golden brown.
  • Add baby corn and choy sum stir-fry for 30 seconds or until the choy sum soft.
  • Add the shrimp. Stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  • Add salt and sugar. Stir-fry for 1 minute. Add 200 ml water, soy sauce and oyster sauce, bring the water to boil.
  • Add noodles and dark soy sauce. Stir-fry for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately.
